Redmummy Potluck Gathering

gambar ramai2 (from redmummy.com)

Yesterday was an outing or girl's day out for Sufiya and me..we both spend time together without her abah at Taman Putra Perdana infront of Shangrila Hotel attending a Potluck Gathering hosted by Redmummy and organized by her well commited committee who went all out preparing stuff for yesterday's event.

It was held at an open area on hilly side on sunny Saturday evening..a perfect gateway for family, and to tell the thruth that was the first time I went there, I passess by this area every morning to work :-)

The host - Kak Red was warm and welcome just like what we read from her blog and so does her family..I noticed her favourite smokey eye makeup.. :-), I like smokey eye too..

There were games for kids and parents as well, and lucky draw..we won a lucky draw for Sufiya..but she was too shy yesterday to greet everybody like she used to, and only talk and play with other guest by the time we were leaving.

Sufiya with Abg Zaidi's cute and chubby daughter..

The crowd came in RED but I did not have a proper one to suit the theme..but at least my daughter and her balloon were red :-)

wearing a badge..adik di9

my daughter loves kuih bangkit..from Sham Bangkit

Guest came with variety of food but I did not try all of them..the strawberry dadih was so nice and I love the curry puff with sardine filling..i just bought marble cake and chocolate marshmallow from Cold Storage

I wish that I had more time to minggle around but since Sufiya stayed glued on my lap all the time I could only sit and chat..should have take more photos as well

Mawi dan Ekin 20th Dec: Wedding and My Anniversary

;-P firstly sorry for those who google on Mawi and Ekin's wedding tapi terlanding at this page..this is not entirely about their wedding but still about a wedding and anniversary..but MINE ...;-P...
(photo from budiey.com)

We share the same date : 20th Dec for our wedding date, but ours was five years ago..in a small mosque in Alor Star.

......Aankhon me tere ajabsi ajabsi adhayen hai...
The moment I met him at the library I knew that I'm gonna marry this guy..just simple as that,..love is strange and sometimes it happened the way we never expect it to be. We met in Johore technically but before that we've seen each other and sat side by side at his farther's shop in Penang. We did not realised it until he saw his farther's shop in one of the photo that I took for my research....

Fast forward ---> After spending hundreds of RM on telephone bill and top-up plus emails and postcard, we finally decided to go to the next level and 20th Dec 2003 was set for that memorable moment. This is two different culture wedding and a lot of understanding has been made in order to make things go smooth as planned.

Our ceremony in Kedah was all Malay style with lace baju kurung modern and the groom complete with sampin and keris..I wish we had arranged for 'bersilat' performance like we had for my uncle.. :-( I always admire old royal wedding ceremony, full of traditions and rules..simply amazing.
But we did have a simple 'merenjis'...

The ceremony in Penang was full of colours and people :-), and full of changes and surprises, I went for make-up session at 3pm ..didn't know what to expect but I knew that he/she the make-up artist for Francisca Peter would do wonders on my not-so-beautiful face..He/she was impressed by his own touch and asked me to look at the mirror..the moment I look at my fully transformed face, I was like.."what !!! I look like Michael Jackson !!.." He/she make a fantastic job, I admit but I look like a different person, and for the first time I had my eyebrow trimmed and they look like a thin single line with 0.6 artline pen..the make up last until 3am withour any touch up..he/she did a wonderful job

And I love my outfit in Penang as well, I wore white dress cum baju kurung modern and hubby with black coat for our dinner and our second outfit for photoshoot at home was a Bollywood inspired, me with bangles , mehendi and bling bling and heavy lenga suit and shawl that need to be adjust all the time. Back then Devdas movie was a hit and I'm one of those who was infected by Bollywood fever, I loves the costume especially the one that Aishwarya and Madhuri wore..

Whenever we flip our wedding album, we could tell a story from each photo...it was the right thing to do, the right time and the right place , my dear : Mujhe tumse pyar hai

We are two different person came from different place and different background and up-bringing, we have contradict personality..i likes words and books, he likes numbers and figures (including 34-24-34 I guess ..hhaha),i like to eat slowly and enjoy my food and taste every spices and ingredient while he just gobbled everything...i buy books and read them but he bought books and I have to read it for him....he likes traditional Malay kuih-muih but I never like dodol, tapai, badak berendam and lepat liat!!

Despite our differences, we still share something in common..we both loves to travel and enjoy listening to Oldies, Classic Rock and of coz..Hindi song

And today we are going to celebrate our 5th Anniversary but with the company of our two little precious, one sweet-cheeky girl and a handsome tough boy..

We hope that this journey together will be forever..Insyallah..thank you for being Mere humsafar

Missing her abah

Mein tumhari kami mahsooz kar rahee hoon

She's so closed to her abah..the moment she was born, the first sight was her abah's face with her Universal studio's t-shirt..when we fetch her everyday at nursery..she'll run to her abah..

But last night she miss him so much and refused to sleep, she's clever now..she kept on calling abah, abah...naknak abah...abah..

I tried to calm her but it did not work..she lie down on her mattress, face down..and crying...at that point, I just wish that he could fly from KK to Putrajaya..and sleep next to his baby

I tried my best by showing her abah's video on my phone..she smile and slowly climbing up her bed..at last after half and hour searching for him, she finally closed her eyes..

At 3am she woke up as usual for her milk..and realised once again that her abah is not around...there goes again the drama...another cycle..and I woke up at 6.30am getting ready or work with heavy eye and sleepy mode..

Father and daughter in Genting

Abah will come home tomorrow..she just can't wait....and me too

Coretan Aidiladha 2008

People said that when we got married, two hearts become one, two families united..and with that comes so many changes whether we like it or not. The changes are varies according or depending on many factors like culture and believes, location etc ..Lets see these fact:

Baju raya:
We go for raya shopping for ourself, parents and siblings..but now..the first priority is of coz for those two kids and hubby..

Pagi raya:
I used to go for sembahyang sunat hari raya at our small madrasah on that peaceful morning..but now..Busy preparing the kids with their baju kurung..and sibuk cari butang baju Melayu for En Haffis..

Makan-makan:
For 28 years..ok minus 3-4 years..I ate ketupat and rendang di pagi hari raya...but now I eat IDIAPUM...putu mayam la tu..dengan kari ayam/ kurma...call me fanatic or obsess with my ketupat pulut, I don't care but it's the sentimental value that matters...Qayyum or Faroqi, I know you gonna read this..but don't get me wrong okay, Mami Sue still makan dua pinggan tau..

Kalau dulu on my side, we always visit our closed relatives that lives nearby and the menu are typical to our tradition or norm: laksa, bihun sup, bihun goreng, mee goreng...but now di Penang ni..we were served with heavy meal like nasi tomato (my fav) or nasi beriani with chicken curry, korma, ayam masak merah..

Melaram baju raya:
Kalau dulu boleh dress up lawa-lawa with shiffon and make-up that last for 8 hours..but now..baju kurung benang hitam terkoyak di pagi hari raya masa dukung anak :-O ... salah baju? salah tailor ? salah anak ? salah sendiri ?

Andddd..kalau dulu hari raya, sibuk ambik gambaq family saja...but now since everybody dah jadi 'blogger'..everything , anything are important subject for blog entry :-) sat-sat ambik gambaq....gambaq ketupat, gambaq rendang, gambaq kasut baju raya..semuanya buat modal..

Our celebration this year was a simple one,no new cloth for the kids, they just wore Aidil fitri's attire..we just stay at home waiting for people to visit us especially our niece who has been discharged from GH,..and she's doing fine at the moment..at least she's with us during that happy day..

Typical scene on pagi raya ..eating idiapum and chicken curry..little girl at the back missing her mom who is in Mekah now

Sufiya and the gang in Penang..

Eating and playing badminton in the afternoon of Aidiladha..?

Gatal-gatal tangan with mehendi..but then I regret because this tube is not like the one that we always bought..too much artificial colouring..looks like Miami ink ;-(

Big boy with his aunties

My uncle's inlaws from Permatang Pauh..chatting at the back of the house

We were in Kuala Sala at my Tok's house on the second day, my uncle host a kenduri akikah and korban. Seekor lembu tumbang and there was 'berendoi' session for one sweet little Safa..my niece ..

The culture of 'berendoi' has been forgotten and only perform in certain area. This is the moment when the newborn were placed in their fully decorated swing and a group of women who specialised on this 'berendoi' will start singing ..it's kind of nasyid and it last for about 30 minutes.

Berendoi session lead by our neighbour in yellow dress

My favourite view when we were in Kuala Sala..view towards the sea..

Aidil adha yang dinanti

We were closed back then, the five of us..self-claimed tough girls in celoreng uniform with our M16 or onboard of 3 tonne truck from Kem Bukit Keteri. Among all boys we stood like a variation of pole..2 petite, 1 tall and athletic and another 2 were just nice...I was the petite one, the one that got knocked on her head during 'latihan senjata'...there was this clumsy guy behind me who over excited handling M16 until he knocked my head accidently..I acted cool like nothing happen, but the moment the sergeant in charge came and took off my barre, I cried...ceehhh..hampeehh...I thought that I was tough enough, the girly side of me came out infront of everybody..and that clumsy and chubby guy had to 'turun 10' for his dumb act ;-0...I still remember his face with chubby cheek and wide eyes..if I ever met him one day, I'll sure knock his head..!!!

Why am I walking down this memory lane..?..Last night..after so many years googling and making phone calls locating one of this girl, I finally got her number..my long lost tough girl who always have a big smile and humble heart...we were there together with the others thru our sad and happy moments..we were together climbing and hanging for our dear life on single rope leaning ourselves to vertical stone wall on the way to Gunung Tahan..slept together in our soaking wet tent the night before we climbed the majestic peak..so many memories together..

And this Aidil Adha we planned to meet up after 14 years leaving that small place in Jitra...one girl can't join us because her air force husband can't simply take leave like other people.....and the other athletic girl has gone missing...until now..

I'm all excited now...

Salam Aidil Adha to all

Circle and Steps

I loves taking photo...nature, people, cars, building, babies..and myself.. :-) I was the one in school who always have a camera with me, but those were just cap ayam auto kamera which was bigger and heavier compared to this age digital camera.

Breakfast at Presint 9..overlooking a courtyard..the seat and drink were bad, but at least I got this view.

Self potrait - in a bathroom during mock-up inspection.

I don't have to rely on digital camera anymore since I'm using Nokia N82 which comes with good quality camera- 5MP/ Xenon Flash...it's so easy now I could snap anything anytime..

Back then when we went trekking to Gunung Tahan and crossing rivers, I had to put my camera in a plastic bag and secured it with rubber ban and when we stop at any camp, I have to open the plastic bag again,...and covered it up again when the journey begin....

Step by step I follow this track because it was raining...I took this photo after I wnet to nursed Hadif at KTAK.. look at the lines- horizontal and vertical.. - going up-

Big Monster

My Ayah Not (grandpa) was a tukang rumah and everytime we visit him, the layout of house was always different. At one time the timber staircase was on the side of half brickwall and timber plank but on the next visit, the staircase was no longer there. He was a traditional tukang rumah who used simple tools and building only small houses with small pay unlike a big contractor who build mega project and using big and heavy equipments. I remember watching him mixing the sand and cement and it looks like a small grey mountain with a lake on top..sometime I tried to hold pahat and ketam and amazed by the look of those.

When I grew older,I started to noticed the existence of other constractiion equipment..it was no longer just pahat and ketam...they were actually more than that. My house is not far from JKR's store..so almost everyday we saw a 3 tone yellow track, back hoe and other big yellow machine which I don't even know the name.

I like looking at those big monster and admiring it's skeleton..there are so many joints, bolt and nut and long and sturdy metal...maybe one day I could try climbing up one of this monster..and try to manouvre it...hahah..what a blast..nope...what a dream..!!..but I'm sure I will, if just for few second to snap a photo :-)...I think that's safe enough..

6 Wheel Tracktor..If you take a closer look, there are actually so many parts joining together

Rear view

Front view...juxtaposition of metals

Back hoe..look at the side support, metaphor of crab's leg..?

I did managed to snap Lori Hantu yet..their face looks not so scary but square and harsh and stiff..

Growing up

If we have a choice, most of us would rather stay at home and take care of our own child, to be able to feed our child with our own hand, to bath them and to hug and kiss them all the time. But not many of us have the ability and freedom to choosed not to work due to many factors like financial (mostly), social interaction and the list goes on. Working means leaving the kids on their own even though we sent them to babysitter's house or nursery or mom's house. The care and love given by other people to our child could never be the same like mother's own love and protection.

We fetch the kids at almost 6pm everyday and normally there are only few kids and babies left waiting for their parents, but on that particular day there were about four parents talking and one lady was crying while holding her son who is same age with my daughter. At first it wasn't clear what they were talking or discussing but as soon as I reached the landing, I heard her saying..' ni bukan kali pertama, dah banyak kali Zahid kena gigit..!!'...at that point I realised they were not just talking but looking at that poor child who has been biten on his cheek...not one but two..and his skin is so fair and that bite mark look fresh.....that lady was still crying and demanding to see the supervisor...I understand how she feel..

Tired at the office and when you fetch your child from people that you trust, your child is not in good condition. It must be hard for her seeing her precious child with bite mark all the time.

Sufiya used to get those marks too on her hand..we did informed the supervisor but we didn't know which one of those active and naive kids did it.

In this kind of incident, should we blame the nursery, the kid or the parents for not teaching their child to behave well, but what can we expect from a child who don't understand which is right and wrong.

I was talking to one of Hadif's group 'Cikgu' and she told me that they always get complaint from other parents that their child too has been biten and when they investigate it turn out that there is only one kid who is the culprit and this boy just joined in last few months. Previously he was taken care by his Bibik....and to my surprise, that little boy has been brought up in a harsh way by this Bibik..so we can imagine how a child at that age will react when they mix around with other kids. Luckily her mother got the hunch to put on kinda 'nanny cam' in their house, that was when she knew the truth of her child's harsh behaviour....

Its terribly wrong to raised up and expose a child with those negative elements, no wonder he can't behave himself..and he's making other people's life miserale without knowing it...I feel sorry for Zahid and of coz for this little boy too..it wasn't entirely his fault..

I knew Zahid for almost a year now and he is a soft boy..compared to his peer..that means easy to be bullied...his mother must be worried all day at the office..

I was told that if that boy still continue with his biting act, he'll be kick out by end of this month...!!

Where would he go, how will he try to mix around with a new group of people, will he be better..??..maybe his mother is worrying about these too

Trick

Our eyes and mind could play trick on us..sometimes we see what we want to see or what we perceived..

I thought that she threw her favourite orange..with no glasses, my eyes makes me see something else

It is actually her orange ballon from 'Family Day'

When I look at the table, her orange is still in the house..

I need a new glasses and she need to stop throwing things..

Family Day : Genting View Resort 08

We left Putrajaya at almost 11am due to half and hour waiting for some people who woke up late and still lalala to the conggregation point. The journey took only one hour and we stop by at R&R Genting Sepah for quick lunch at McDonald..

Our schedule was pack with activities, therefore the kids also need to catch up with the list..

Sufiya comforting Hadif while I prepared their outfit, she's a big sister now, trying to do everything on her own.

Who could resist playing with water...

Coloring and drawing contest, but she was not qualified to entered any of the contest, but being a kid, she definitely wants to join the crowd..here she was lying on the floor sketching something..:-) The boy next to her was in other category, I noticed that he drew using a pencil and a ruler..I think he will be an engineer one day, coz architect sketch without using a ruler as a guide unless it is a construction drawing,...am I right En Haffis..you always draw your mechanical stuff with a ruler :-D

Dinner (Theme : Red, Black & White)

The kids wore red and white..Some family were all red from top to toe..so nice, but I spotted green as well :-D

We were entertained by our office talent..Karaoke Competition, they were good singing, it was not like a Karaoke but more like singing competition coz most of them h ave a great voice and our Big Boss shows his skill by singing Main Syair To Nahin- from Bobby....syabas..

This song and overall event during that nite made somebody had a wild imagination of perfoming duet next year..Hindi song pulak tu...hahaha..I know you got the skill of dancing in public.. ;-D

Second Day : Sukaneka

We started our day early with breakfast, being typical Malaysian, we had nasi lemak for breakfast and Miss Fussy Eater just ate her corn bun.

Little girl admiring the bubbles..I like this photo's background..

Cathing bubbles..she had great fun and we had memorable time as a family too

Tarik tali: daddy's little girl..tak nak berenggang with her abah. We were in Orange Team, so the I arranged the whole family to wear the same colour for every occasion, orange for the Sukaneka, red for dinner, light blue for first day activity and last day was free-style..no theme at all

"Pemenang tempat ketiga 'Lari dalam guni' jatuh kepada En Haffis suami kepada Puan Suhaila"...Bravo..!! Sufiya was crying all the way while her abah running a gunny sack and people were looking at her during the macth coz she just wants to be with her abah..

Hadif posing for the camera..on the way back to Putrajaya..he's a big boy now

We came home safely and with refreshed mind and both of us are looking forward for the next year's Family Day..I thought that I was the only one who had that dream..

Family day : Genting View Resort

It been almost 4 years ago we've been to Genting, that was few months after the wedding, and tomorrow we are leaving for Genting again with additional two seats :-)
We are in Orange Team so the kids got to wear the same colour to create the mood of 'Family Day'.

I have to handle primary school category's game : 'lari kepit bola'..ooh how I wish Sufiya could join one of the game..she's still small, she might have chance next two years..

The theme for tomorrow's dinner night is 'Red, Black and White'..i prefer red, so i got to find something red for her, Hadif no problem at all, he already got so many red outfit..the father would go for black and white..

This is her oufit..just bought it few minutes ago, got to find red hairclips to match the pant

Genting ..here we come

In Memory : Miss Sibert

She taught us English and poetry, she was strict..she was big and bold..

Miss Sibert during one of reunion (from Queen of the House blog)

But on the 30th October 2008 she left us with many memories

The New Straits Times of July 4, 1983 carried a caption, describing herretirement send-off as:"Miss Sibert was given a grand send-off in a beautifully decoratedtrisha - towed by Girl Guides, amid shouts of `Goodbye' from her pupils."
..I'm proud to say that I was among her student who lined up infront of the school chapel saying goodbye to her

Progress and milestone

Alhamdulillah we just received a good news from Penang that our niece is now no longer staying at NICU, things will be better soon, only God knows how we feel.

.....

On a lighter note: Hadif just moved forward to another level..yea!!..dah meniarap today on his own..rolled and rolled..and finally he did it, Sufiya and I were over excited rushing to get my handphone to captured those memorable moment :-)

The excitement is still the same even though this is the second one

We are always talking to Sufiya and teaching her all family member's name..so far she could says 'dada, dadi but sometimes dida, shhhaad (irshad), min (syamim) and lah for farehah..and yesterday when I asked her where's Farehah?

she said : 'akit = sakit, with her hand on her tummy'..I gave her a big hug.

She understand a little bit now of what's going on around her

Aidilfitri Open House at Taska One, Putrajaya

She just woke up when I arrived with her new shirt and skirt..mata bengkak2 lagi and she was like crying as usual..
She was still mamai and look confused coz there were so many people eating at their play area..

Sufiya with Zara, this girl is very friendly and talk very fluent.

Hadif didn't join the party outside..next year je la Hadif, bila dah boleh jalan

With her candy...and jeling2 at the camera

Just want to be friendly..but the boy just enjoyed his meal.. :-)

I like this photo..so cheerful with bright colours on the wall
And the food...I must admit that their's are better and variety compared to the one that we had at the office last week. All food were prepared by the staff here. We had lontong, nasi impit, mee rebus, makaroni goreng, ketupat pulut, cookies, traditional kuih, mixed fruits..muffins..etc

Eating her favourite oranges..she kept on asking this girl to sit next to her (she's Ibu Ceria's daughter, her mother is always smiling..that's why we call her 'ceria')

I met a mother who just send her daughter here, the 8 months daughter got a big cut on her forehead..a mark / gift from her babysitter's house and that kind of bruises were not the first one.

Some people thought that it is easy to take care of little baby and toddler, but the fact is the other way, some said that they love children and willing to take care (but we pay, its not free ya)but they ended up ignoring our child's safety..

I wish I could stay at home at take care of my child..but...
